    摘要: 高粱分為甜高粱及籽實高粱,甜高粱為目前極具發展潛力的能源作物,重要性不亞於甘藷與甘蔗,但甜高粱在臺灣未曾有大面積栽培經驗,根據文獻報告,籽實高粱常會受到各種病蟲害之危害,而影響其產量及品質。在病害方面,臺灣記錄之高粱病害約有20種,包括有穗腐病、麥角病、黑穗病、葉斑病、銹病、紋枯病及白絹病等;在蟲害方面,臺灣之記錄約有30餘種,包括有玉米螟、高粱穗夜蛾、玉米蚜蟲、黍蚜、甜菜夜蛾、切根蟲、臺灣黃毒蛾及小白紋毒蛾等,但甜高粱則少有此方面之報導。因臺灣高溫多濕,預期甜高粱在大面積栽培下,亦易遭受病蟲害之侵襲。本研究將配合甜高粱之優良品種選育,除了調查病蟲害之種類及建立化學及生物防治等病蟲害綜合管理技術外,並可藉此篩選出優良之抗病蟲害品種,及研究採種技術,以提供大面積栽培所需之優良健康種子。
    As a result of evaluation by Agricultural Research Institute, sweet sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) might be one of the most important energy plants for bioethanol production in Taiwan, no less important than Ipomoea batatas and Saccharum sinensis .But because the characteristic of Taiwan’s climate is high temperature and high humidity, the production of sweet sorghum might receive large danger caused by pests, and the loss of output and quality during grouth duration might be possibly high. There are more than 20 kinds of plant diseases of sweet sorghum recorded in Taiwan, including panicle and seed rot, ergot, smut, leaf spots, rust, sheath blight and southern blight. As for insect pests, there are more than 30 kinds recorded in Taiwan, including Asian corn borer, cotton bollworm, sorghum aphid, beet armyworm, black cutworm, tussock moth and small tussock moth. This project is aimed, in cooperating with the improved variety selection of the sweet sorghum, to investigate the kinds of pests and to set up of the prevention techniques. To screen some resisting variety of sweet sorghum is the other aim of this study. Besides, this project also studies on the seed production technology of sweet sorghum for mass cultivation in Taiwan.
