I picked this TV drama I Am a Little Grass because of its popularity. The drama
consists of 43 parts. It first came out in the spring of 2009. When it was shown for the
first round on Channels Jiangsu, Henan, Guizhou, Hebei, Hubei, and Tianjin at the same
time on different parts of the drama as the various channels started from different days, all
the channels received the highest audience ratings in their respective regions. Then
Channel Beijing took it over, while some channels started their second round screening.
Now the year 2009 is almost coming to its end; you turn on the TV and you still find it
showing on one or two channels. Comments on the TV series, such as “I am deeply
moved,” “I never feel bored watching it even for a hundred times (百看不厌),” “I
admire Little Grass,” “I love Little Grass” and “I wish I could have a wife like Little
Grass” abound.1 Thus, quite a number of people wrote on their blog or on different
websites hoping to see the sequel of I Am a Little Grass. There are certainly negative
comments (which I will address later), but the positive greatly out-numbered the negative.
