AbstractEmployees or human resources nowaday have been regarded as a critical element for organizations maintaing substainable advantege. How to keep their work life in the way having good quality seems more and more important to ensure employees could enlarge their work potential. This study was aimed at exploring the workplace bullying phenomenon in Turkey with qualitative research method. We conducted interview data from three respondents (one man and two women) having bullying experience and working in Turkey’s public and private sectors. After analying the antecedents of bullying, psychological process and work consequences. Results showed that bullying was usually accompanied by isolation, by verbal insult, mercilessly criticism, subservient and unreasonable work deadline from superviors. The victims often pretended to be strong, keeped silent, passivly acceptted facing bullying. The reasons why bullying happened included power distance in the workplace, superviors’ inadaquancy, threatened by subordinates and the negative organizational culture of ignoring bullying. Finally, respondents might feel fear, be helplessness and loss of self-esteem so that having constaint from pressure at work, lower job performance and job burnout.Keywords: qualitative research, workplace bullying, bullying process, Turkey
