Abstract: The circular economy concept is applied in agro-industrial systems to reduce the losses, wastes and avoidable environmental impacts of food supply chains. Especially, precision agriculture provides a stable supply of the appropriate quality agro-product. The precision agriculture is further enhancing the circularity of food systems. Industry 4.0 tools such as artificial intelligent needs to be integrated into precision agriculture to optimize productivity and resource efficiency. Hence, study on multi-functional computer models is needed to enable monitoring, simulation, forecasting, and optimization for decision-making. Such tools must take into account social and cultural aspects of human behavior in order to be effective.
