Abstract: | The rapid development of the World Wide Web leads to many new applications in education, such as information integration in all areas of teaching, distance learning, and digital learning. In 2003, the Ministry of Education in Taiwan, started to promote the setup of the “Teaching Resource Website,” which was aimed to improve and upgrade teaching qualities. However, due to the menu of website homepage functions for teaching resource is too miscellaneous and various, the quality and standard of teaching resource collections differentiate; furthermore, the search range can’t keep pace with the search function, these factors cause some inconvenience to the users. Consequently, exploring and studying for teaching resources on website homepages will be very beneficial and helpful to the development of teaching resources.
In this study, data was collected from relevant literature and the homepage menus from different websites often used by teachers were complied. Through the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, questionnaires were designed and distributed to the experts on education. After analyzing the data collected from the questionnaires, the study results show that teaching resource network design can be evaluated by six ways: 1. teaching resource area, 2. retrieval system, 3. website interaction area, 4. website resource area, 5. website profile, 6. personalized menu.
In the evaluation of function menus for teaching resources, we found the important influential factors are 1.teaching materials, 2.resource materials, 3.learning sheets, 4.assessment, 5.lesson plans. This study constructs an assessment mode on “teaching resources website menu weight value,” and can be used reference for teaching resource website operators in their decision making.
