Cloud technology is at present an innovative and popular concept. The convenience it brings has made the concept develop rapidly. With the upgrade of Internet bandwidth and speed, cloud technology has been well-developed. Without the limit of time and space and having the features of immediate feedback, high interaction, and high accessibility, on top of the high popularity of mobile devices, the number of people getting online and using cloud technology has continuously grown.
The study first collected literature related to e-learning and cloud service at home and abroad, trying to understand the current development and relationship between cloud technology and classroom instrction. By using the Classroom of Google, an e-learning system was set up to assist the instrction of information technology courses in the elementary school.
The method that the study adopted was the Experimental Research. In the experimental group, the e-learning system of Google Classroom was used to assist the teaching of SCRATCH programs, while in the control group, the e-learning system of MOODLE was adopted. After the implementation of the teaching instrction, an achievement test was administered. With the data collected, an anlysis was done by the statistics software to compare the learning results of these two groups.
According to the analysis results, it was found that it is workable to assist the instrction of information technology in the elementary schools with the e-learning systems constructed by Google Classroom and Google Apps for Education. In additon, there is no significant difference on the learning results of six-grade students in information technology courses between using e-learning systems of Google Classroom and Moodle.
