The study was to develop a low-carbon traveling network in Taichung City using a systematic perspective, and to establish a holistic humanities and natural recreation area (medium range policy agenda of Taichung City Government, 2012). Focusing on planning overall leisure facilities should connect the low-carbon traveling network with main tourist routes and effective use of resources.
Based on the low-carbon traveling resources survey in Taichung City and its potential development evaluation analysis, the results can be a future reference for Taichung City Tourism Bureau. The result has shown that low-carbon traveling is a trend on tourism development in the future, focusing on transportation, food, lodging, and local characteristics. The result also found there were still some improvements needed in the actual planning process.
