Abstract: This study adopts qualitative research interview method. The researcher interviewed six Jia-Jiang Twan youths, mostly from Wanhua and Xinzhuang districts in north Taiwan. The study found that protective factors are more than risk factors, which is not due to its better display of resilience. There are several special factors in different systems can affect the resilience development of Jia-Jiang Twan youths. The results of the study show that individual traits should include the abilities of “awareness for external image” and “differentiate oneself from the environment”. Domestically, parents should be able to give “care and satisfaction of needs” and “flexible parenting styles”. In school systems, teachers should be “open to make friends with students” and “encouraging and watchful for students” in order to keep Jia-Jiang Twan youths inside the school system. In social situations, Jia-Jiang Twan provides the factors of “identification of image requirements” and “experiences of social microcosm”, which make Jia-Jiang Twan youths go through social situations earlier than their peers. Meanwhile, “stable jobs” , “connections with significant others” and so on help Jia-Jiang Twan youths develop better coping ability to face different real-life situations.
Lastly, based on the results of the research, further discussions and practical suggestions were made for adolescent-related workplaces such as families, schools, communities and so on, which can be used by professionals and future researches for reference.
