    Title: A Study of Discussion on Serious Leisure Characteristics, Leisure Impediment, and the Degree of Leisure Satisfaction – Base on Photography Classes of Yuanlin Community College.

    Abstract: The purpose of this study was to comprehend the current status of serious leisure characteristics, leisure impediment, and the degree of leisure satisfaction base on photography class students of Yuanlin community college; and discuss that if there were significant difference among serious leisure characteristics, leisure constraints, and the degree of leisure satisfaction; the relationship between serious leisure characteristics and leisure impediment; and if serious leisure characteristics and leisure impediment could predict the degree of leisure satisfaction.
    This study was distributed to the students who were in photography classes at Yuanlin community college. Both purposive sampling and convenience sampling were used in this study. This study surveyed 170 students, and 160 packets were returned (94.1%). The results were as following:
    1.As for the students of photography classes with different backgrounds, there was significant difference in “the length of participating in the classes” and “the frequencies of participating in the photography activities each month” in serious leisure characteristics. In addition, the students who participated in the photography activities two to fourteen times had higher score in serious leisure characteristics than the ones who participated in the photography activities less than two times.
    2.As for the students of photography classes with different backgrounds, there was significant difference in “the length of participating in the classes” and “the amount of income could be dominated each month” in leisure impediment, in which, “personal inner impediment element” has scored higher for the students who participated in photography classes less than a year than the ones who participated in photography classes for four to six years. “In interpersonal impediment” has higher score for students who dominated under NT10,000 each month than the ones who dominated NT 30,000 to 40,000.
    3.As for the students of photography classes with different backgrounds, there was significant difference in “age”, “education”, and “the frequencies of participating in the photography activities each month” in the degree of leisure satisfaction, among which, the students with bachelor’s degree scored higher in degree of leisure satisfaction than the students with Master’s degree.
    4.The students of photography classes had low negative correlation in serious leisure characteristics and leisure impediment .
    5.In serious leisure characteristics, “strong recognition”, “carrier” , and “ self-effort” could slide predict the degree of leisure satisfaction. However, leisure impediment could not predict the degree of leisure satisfaction.
