    Abstract: This study aims to explore the reasons why married male licensed psychologist burn out and which self-care and coping they use to deal with burnout. This study used case study methodology and the data was collected by semi-structured interviews. The researcher invited three male licensed psychologists who are married, have children, and have already worked in counseling field over three years to be research participants by purposive sampling. All interviews were transcribed into transcripts and analyzed by the researcher. The findings of the study showed that the burnout is highly related to accumulation of stress, and the causes of burnout are not single. The causes of burnout can be diverse, including personal factors, socio-cultural factors, family-related sources, specific types of work, and from administrative work. The participants’ strategies to deal with burnout are applying professional self-care, personal self-care of their emotional, physical, and psychological needs, and stress-reducing and problem-solving coping strategies. Implications of the study and suggestions for training and future research were discussed.
