    Title: A Study on Exploring Succession of Family Firms

    Abstract: Family firms in various industries around the world are very important in the type of organization, especially in the Chinese context. In recent years, due to the global competitions, family firms in Taiwan face a great challenge with China's Red Supply Chain. And, there is great affection of business model from the predecessor and some circumstances with the leap of personal condition. The "Family succession" in Chinese context holds the whole power of ownership or operation. In the western company, this is an important topic of succession of family firms. However, there is few studies to exploring succession of family firms. We analyze four factors of Family Firms refer the dimensions by Handlar(1989).
    The study is an exploring paper. And, the paper analyze the collecting events from 2005 to 2015 with Handler (1989)'s four factors. This study found the topic of business successor having a lot of relative information. Therefore, there are three finding factor: next generation, professional management, senior employees, and the paper have three important stages—the falls stage, the conquering stage and the raising stage. The study on exploring succession of family firms of Taiwanese find out the systematic splitting of ownership and management right and maintain the right to family firms. Lower the family involving for the rule by law; the family firm, business succession, management importance due to the power transition leading the fight for any rights. The vanishing reduce co-management under various conditions. Taiwanese Family Firms are trending to the professional management succession. The final content of this study owns specific implications about management to family firms, company boards or any managerial level.
