    Title: Correlation among Living Arrangements, Social Participation, Mental Health , and Well-being of Elderly

    Abstract: The purpose of this thesis was to discuss the status and correlation of the aged people living arrangement, social participation, mental health and well-being. The investigation was adopted by given questionnaire and randomized collecting 231 effective respondents at one community in Taichung city. From these survey data of 231 questionnaires, the statistical analysis was performed by “Independent-sample t Test”, “Multivariate Analysis of Variance, MANOVA”, “Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient” and “Multiple Regression Analysis”. The results indicate as follows,
    1.The number of children, children’s gender, perceived health, economy, religion, living arrangement with its satisfaction , social participation includes learning, leisure and religion & mental health includes anxiety, angry, depressive, inferiority and insomnia had a significant impact on a matter of the aged people well-being.
    2.There wassignificant correlation among living arrangement, social participation, mental health and well-being.
    3.Analysis of variance (ANOVA) provided information about levels of variability within a multiple regression analysis, and it shown in sequence of prediction by living arrangement,mental health and social participation. Thus those variables can have effectively predicted 29.7% well-being.
    Therefore, in order to satisfy the well-being of the aged people, to meet their needs of the living arrangement, more social participation opportunity and enhancement of their mental health was Suggested.
