Looking forward to use this study to investigate the combined effects of leisure activities and sports on effect of cognitive decline in the elderly in Taiwan。
Methods:This study implemented the database of the "Taiwan Longitudinal Survey on Aging (TLSA) from 1999 to 2007". collected in 1999 and excluded the samples which cannot be considered by the study, such as people who already have had cognitive decline, cancer, and passed away during the research period. There were 1,119 samples which were used. The study conducted that logistic regression with the following factors fixed: demographic variables, socioeconomic, health behavior, disease and other variables in order to analyze the longitudinal association that how leisure activities and physical activities are enough to influence the risk of elder cognitive decline during eight years (the recession is defined in terms of the index of SPMSQ in 2007 reduces over 2 points in the comparison of the index in 1999).
Result: The result analysis movement equivalence ratio low movement equivalent may reduce the cognition decline risk highly 0.6% (P< 1.470), the leisure activity may reduce the cognition decline risk highly compared to the low leisure active mass 78.4% (P< 0.002), the moderate leisure activity may reduce the cognition decline risk compared to the low leisure active mass 51% (P< 0.001).Only then the high leisure activity low physiological load of exercise cognition declines the risk reduces 68.9% compared to the low physiological load of exercise also the low leisure active mass (P< 0.018), other condition cognition declines the risk reduces 47.1% compared to the baseline group (P< 0.001).
Conclusion: This research demonstration continues moderate and the leisure active mass may affect the elderly cognition decline situation effectively highly. This result may teach reference the case as the health, helps has the interest leisure activity in the elderly to oneself to have the participation wish, has reached the body ,Psychological, spirituality balance.
