    Title: Effect of Intergenerational Immersion on The Middle-Age Elderly Social Participation and University Students Service-Learning

    Abstract: Objective: This study aimed at understanding the current situation in the elderly community care center of social participation, the status of college students volunteer service-learning and views, community college students for Intergenerational Immersion on the effectiveness of volunteer service learning activities involved and to be served by community to investigate the effectiveness of Participation.
    Methods: This quasi-experimental study mining research, this study of a private university in Taichung City. It’s college 202 students as subjects, the experimental group to attend general education and service-learning courses to the neighboring community care center health promotion services 101 college students learning, and for over 55 years middle-age elderly have 44 peoples. The community service learning activities conducted four weeks. The control group for the same service-learning courses to attend general education but not to community care center 101 students in the experimental group and the control group has carried out test after test prior to version SPSS20.0 data analysis.
    Results: First, the middle-age elderly participate in community with Universerty students volunteer service-learning in descending score order, is( A ) community activities, religious activities , leisure activities , learning activities and volunteering.(B ) service-learning opinions view , moral reasoning learning, service learning and volunteer value of cognitive ability .Second ,community Intergenerational Immersion activities to the Universerty students volunteer service-learning.To enhance" Universerty students volunteer service-learning the point of view" ,and" service value perception " .and middle-age elderly social participation have significantly improved.
    Conclusions and Recommendations : The study found the middle-age elderly social participation in community activities have highest score , learning activities and voluntary services is lowest score .Universerty students volunteer service-learning the point of view is highest score and lowest volunteer capacity .The combined intergenerational immersion research , life education , health promotion and other programs to effectively enhance after learning the value of community intervention services and service-learning cognitive reflection students effectiveness perspective views .But further research design to enhance moral reasoning ability of learning in volunteer service learning activities. And to enhance the social participation of the middle-age elderly.Suggest for future service-learning courses in design combined Intergenerational Immersion , life education , promotion of health promotion .
