    Title: The Study of Relationship between the Self-concept and School Life Adjustment of Participating Scouting Students in the Elementary and Junior High School

    Abstract: This study is to understand the relationship of the primary and secondary students’ self-concept and adaption in school life with participating Scout activities. The method is questionnaires. Research tool contains three parts that are"basic personal information、Self Concept Scale and School Life Adjustment Scale. 406 Primary and secondary students participating in Scout activities in Pingtung County are the Sample objects.
    The survey data analysis with t test, ANOVA analysis, product-moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression statistical methods. The results of this study are as follows:

    1.The girls ,junior stage,the more times of participating in Scout activities when they are in primary and secondary schools , the higher level performance in the self-concept.
    2.That primary caregivers’ ocio-economic status and the case of awarding the medal are no significant differences in self-concept performance.
    3.The girls ,junior stage,the primary caregiver for the high Socio - economic Status are in high-level adaptation performance in the part of school life.
    4.That the times of participating in Scout activities and the case of awarding the medal are no significant differences in adaption to all situations of school life.
    5.The higher self-concept students get , the higher performance they have at all levels to adapt to school life.
    6.Students who participate in Scout activities in primary and secondary school can best predict peer relationships in self-concept of school self-concept .
    7.Students who participate in Scout activities in primary and secondary school can best predict teacher-student relationship in self-concept of moral self-concept .
    8.Students who participate in Scout activities in primary and secondary school can best predict learning to adapt in self-concept of psychological self-concept .
    9.Students who participate in Scout activities in primary and secondary school can best predict self-adapt in self-concept of Moral self-concept .

    Finally, according to the above results, This study presents recommendations for Scout educational organizations, Department of Education at local government , schools, parents, and further research For reference.
