    Title: The Impact of Authentic Leadership and Group Positive Affective Tone on Employee’s Engagement and Problem-Solving Attitude

    Abstract: According to the perspective of leadership theory and positive psychology, this study examined the influence of supervisor’s authentic leadership and group positive affective tone towards employee’s engagement and problem-solving attitude.
    Questionnaire surveys were conducted to verify the hypothesis. The pilot survey was conducted among the employees in the insurance industry in Pingtung, while then the actual questionnaire was conducted among the employees in the insurance industry in Taichung area. The participants were grouped with supervisor and employees (A set of group questionnaire contains into one supervisor questionnaire and 3 employee questionnaire). Out of 150 group questionnaires distributed, 90 valid set questionnaires were collected. After analyzing by using hierarchical linear modeling, the results showed that: (1) the supervisor’s authentic leadership can make a significant positive influence on employees’ engagement, (2) the group positive affective tone can make a significant positive influence on the employees’ engagement, (3) the employees’ engagement can make a significant positive influence on their problem-solving attitude, (4) the group positive affective tone can make a positive influence on the employees’ problem-solving attitude, (5) there is no significant influence outcome of the employees’ engagement by the interaction between group positive affective tone and supervisor’s authentic leadership.
