    Abstract: This paper proposes an automated method to detect the blood vessels on a
    chicken chorioallantoic membrane image, and computes the BCD of the image based on
    the extracted blood vessels. It is helpful to enhance the effect of medication in treating or
    inhibiting cancer. This method first employs Canny edge detector to find out the possible
    edge pixels of the blood vessel. Next, vessels can be detected by means of the linear formula
    originated from genetic algorithm. Experimental results show that it is able to recognize
    almost vessels and BCD error ratio between 2.4% and 3.4%.
