Abstract: Organizational commitment has become a very popular topic of investigation (Brown, 1996). The importance of the influence of leadership styles, job satisfaction, and job characteristics on organizational commitment has increased along with recognition of its affect on employee behaviors and attitudes. The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of leadership styles, job characteristics, and job satisfaction on organizational commitment of Vietnam Maritime Administration in Quangninh, Vietnam. The questionnaires of this study were sent to 200 respondents. All of the respondents were civil servants, who worked for Vietnam Maritime Administration Quangninh. The civil servants rated the items that assessed their perceptions towards organizational commitment, leadership styles, job characteristics, and job satisfaction. The collected data was tested by SPSS 20.0. Descriptive statistic analyses, reliability tests and regression analyses were used in the current research study.
In general, the findings showed that leadership styles, job characteristics, and job satisfaction had significant influences on organizational commitment. Leadership styles and job characteristics were also examined to prove that they had significant influence on job satisfaction. Finally, the results of the current study were discussed along with some suggestions for future research.
