    Abstract: It is an ineluctable trend that Taiwan's population gradually aging, how to enhance the quality of emergency medical service in elderly really important. This research aimed to analyze prehospital care records, to understand the 119 ambulance utilization in Jhuolan township public, and explore the relationship among using 119 ambulance reason and treatment in elderly.
    The 119 ambulance utilization of Jhuolan township in 2012:it used ambulance rates have no correlation with age in people under sixty-four years old, but goed up with age in people over sixty-five years old, and the useing ambulance ratio higher than people under sixty-four years old .The reason for using 119 ambulance in elderly have 75.7% higher rates in " Non-traumatic ", the utilization of management item in descending order of other management, airway management, trauma management, medicine management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The reason for needing emergency aid were significantly associated with the management item of " airway management " and " trauma management ".
    This research presents the connection between the reason for using 119 ambulance in elderly and management item, and hope to provide effective information for the ministry of health so that can plan for emergency medical service training related with elderly, it will enable elderly to enjoy the high quality of emergency medical service.
