Of the 233 questionnaires distributed, 215 questionnaires were completed, giving a 96.4% response rate.

The level of knowledge of the nurses concerning assessment and treatment of urinary incontinence has a great influence on the implementation of effective incontinence care for elderly. It is clear that nurses need more education and training in urinary incontinence care. The findings from this current study could be used as an impetus for changes in nursing practice.
