The study focus on the economy knowledge and the attitude of using money of elementary school students who live in four different districts,including Mountain area, Inshore area, Tuen area and Central area of Taichung City, Taiwan. The data is collected with questionaire and purposive samplingof 682 students from 16 schools. The data is analyzed with independent sample t tests of statistical methods, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient analysis. The findings is:
First, the items of economy knowledge test are correctly answered with ratios from 74.6% to 75.9%, because a part of economy knowledge is not clear or evev absent in the teaching materials. . There is a significant identification degree
Second, the students showe a positive money attitude in each dimension of money attitude.
Third, most of the background variables significantly affected the general economic cognition of the students, except allowance levels gained from family.
Four, bacjground variables have make differenced in students' economic cognitive performance.
Finally, there is low positive relationship between economy cognition and money attitude
