Abstract: | This study is about the operation and transformation of the organic herbal restaurant. In order to find out the business concept, service marketing strategy and how to begin an herbal restaurant as a business, this research takes the “Elegant Herb Garden” in Kaohsiung as example.
This research takes qualitative techniques as the research methods. It includes studies analysis, in-depth interviews and participant observation. The in-depth interviewees are the founder and the manager of the “Elegant Herb Garden”. With a view to make the survey questions more concrete, the author not only collected the information from websites, newspapers and magazines etc. as the second hand information, but also participated in the experiencing courses which is delivered by the interviewees to get the first hand information.
This survey investigated that the interviewees are keep learning, trying and stick their original intention, providing organic products. The “Elegant Herb Garden” not only researched and developed organic herbal products, but delivered herbal courses and exhibitions to makes more people to understand herb.
This study takes the service marketing as the research structure. However, the other researchers may use market position and products innovation as the perspective for the research in the future.
Due to the limitation of the time and human resource, this survey takes the in-depth interview, participate observation and studies analysis as the research methods. Though, this study had already investigated the succeed tips from the founder and manager of the “Elegant Herb Garden”, there may be more objective points of view from the employees and customers by using survey questionnaires.
The contribution of this study are to provide some directions for the relevant businesspeople and the government, which want to get involve in or cultivate the organic herbal industry. |
