    Title: The Study of Environmental Attributes and Place Attachment- A Case Study of the Hiking Trail in Chih- Niu Ridge¸Hengchuen Township¸ Pingtung County

    Abstract: This research is aimed to tell the difference between environmental attributes and place attachment of hikers from various backgrounds;to analyze the relations between environment satisfaction and place attachment; to further understand the hikers’ subjective evaluations of the importance and satisfaction of the various service and facilities in Chih- Niu Ridge’s hiking trail.Based on former research “Scale of Hikers’ Setting Attributes, Place Attachment and Revisit Intention inChin-Niu Ridge’s Pintung County”, and targeted at the hikers in Mt. Chih- Niu ‘s hiking trail in Hengchuen Township of Pintung County as subjects, which were issued by convenience sampling of 300 questionnaires and collected 250 questionnaires; the effective response rate was 83.33%. The data was analyzed by SPSS software package . The test of significance of this research is α=.05. The statistic methods of this research are Descriptive statistics, Independent-Samples t-test, One-Way ANOVA, Pearson's product-moment correlation Analysis. It reaches the following conclusions:
    (1)The influencing factors of the importance of environmental attributes include occupation, residence, education, and salary; the influencing factors of the satisfaction of environmental attributes include age, occupation, residence,education and salary.
    (2)The influencing factors of place attachment include residence, and education .
    (3)The “physical environmental attributes”, “social environmental attributes”, “management attributes”and “activities attributes” in environment satisfacion have high positive correlation with “place dependence” and “place identity” in place attachment.
