The participation construct has been used to explain a variety of leisure-related phenomena. But many of these investigations have been limited by the measures to operationally the construct. Data were collected from the elderly people of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was to address the research purpose of “the main reason that impacts the participation: and why do the elderly people participant the activities”. Results indicated that the relationships with significant family and church’s activities was the primary source of personal relevance and was identified as the most important element that influence the informants’ leisure activities arrangement. The findings encompass five themes to describe: (1) significant family and relatives (2) time (3) church’s activities (4) personal reasons (5) source of information
