本研究旨在以動態影像及電腦動畫融入美國手語教學協助接受教育部「攜手計畫—課後扶助」補救教學的國小學生進行英語科教學,研究的目的在探究運用美國手語趣味學英語光碟融入國小英語補教教學的實施成效,同時以藉由以台灣注音符號為基礎之字母拼讀法(phonics)幫助國小學生認識英文發音。研究採用準實驗設計法,以苗栗縣景山國小35位接受「攜手計畫—課後扶助」弱勢學生為研究對象,進行8節課之教學實驗。本研究資料包含前後測及維持期測驗成績,並進行分析比較,以了解這些弱勢學生,經過8節課的教學後,在美國手語及英語字母、單字的進步情形。
此外,2009年聽障奧林匹克運動會將在台灣舉辦,來自世界不同國籍的聽障選手將以手語交流,就像國際場合大家都使用英文一樣,美國手語可能比國際手語更普遍,本研究以美國手語為基礎研發出教學光碟,可以幫助聽力正常人士循序漸進方式學習美國手語。
This research integrated computer video and animation for teaching American Sign Language to elementary students of a hand-in-hand alternative remedial program. A phonics teaching approach based on Taiwanese phonetic system was also included in the computer software.A total of 35 elementary students from Jin-San elementary school of Miao-Li county participated in the study for 8 hours.Their achievement in sign language recognition and English alphabets and words was assessed.
As the Olympic game of the Deaf will be held in Taiwan next year, it is hoped the multimedia software of American Sign Language will help Taiwanese understand and communicate with deaf people from all over the world.
