This paper contributes to a Standard Reference Model (RM) for intelligent multimedia presentation systems. In the past few years, we have developed several intelligent presentation systems at the Multimedia Information Network (MINE) Lab at Tamkang University. We describe these systems in terms of architecture and function of components. The first system, Intelligent MultiMedia Presentations System (IMMPS), allows a presentation designer to construct knowledge rules reflecting Thebackground of individual audiences.
