A total of 35 elementary students from a school of Miao-Li county participated in the study for 8 hours. Their achievement in sign language recognition and English alphabets and words was assessed. As the Olympic game of the Deaf will be held in Taiwan next year, it is hoped the multimedia software of American Sign Language will help Taiwanese understand and communicate with deaf people from all over the world.
