Abstract: The purpose of this study is to construct a remedial instruction system adapted by a computerized test, which is based on Math learning goal for grade three. This system offers students an online remedial instruction according to the test work, the diagnosis of Math ideas, and the distribution chart where the ability locates.
Being different from the traditional CAI instruction software, this system emphasizes that it is based on learning theory and diagnostic testing theory. This testing system then conducts an adaptive remedial instruction toward the part of the goal, which is not reached yet after it reveals the part of the goal, which is achieved. In addition, it gives students a flexible and independent learning environment without the limitation of time and place by using Flash MX, Swishmax, Dreamweaver Mx, and Photoshop to create an appropriate multimedia remedial instruction system.
This instruction system is a two way instruction system. It can not only work with diagnostic test to execute a summative remedial instruction, but also work alone as an online, multimedia, self-learning system which integrates several units, provides a simulation covering each node of the goal, and undergoes a unit-learning by an activity, Getting Passes, connected to the goal.
All in all, the expected achievements of this study are as follows:
    1. On the basis of learning goal planned by Education Department of Taiwan, the teaching materials and techniques of Math for grade three are analyzed in order to build a multimedia, online, remedial instruction system. Design a multimedia, interactive remedial instruction system, which fits any version of textbooks.
    2. Working with adaptive diagnostic testing system, an effective and adaptive remedial instruction is constructed.
    3. Construct a two way instruction system which can not only work with diagnostic test to execute a summative remedial instruction, but also work alone as a online, multimedia, self-learning system.
