The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences among variables of background of teachers in senior and vocational high school on participation of leisure activities and obstacles of leisure activities. To ensure the validity of the experimental data, the subjects used in this study were randomly selected 18 schools from senior high schools in Taichung County. Questionnaire survey was conducted to testify to what extent and how these variables interrelated. Of 860 questionnaires, 821questionnaires were recalled, and the recall rate was 95.47%. Deleting invalid questionnaires, 758 samples were valid and the recall rate was 88.14%. The statistical methods used in the analysis of the data were Descriptive Statistics, Chi-square Test, T-test, and One-way ANOVA. On the basis of these analysis results, the conclusions were found as follows: 1. A significant correlation is found between the types of participation of leisure activities and the frequency of participation in teachers. 2. Among the variables of different background, Annual Household Income is closely related to the frequency of participation of leisure activities. 3. The variables of different background had a significant impact on the types of participation of leisure activities. 4. The variables of different background had a significant impact on the factors of obstacles of leisure activities. The findings of this research will provide some suggestions for teachers, educational administration, and future research.
