    Title: A Study of Taichung Senior High School Students?

    Abstract: The study aims to explore the differences in the participation in leisure activities and subsequent satisfaction for Taichung senior high school students. It is intended for the reference of the institutes concerned in promoting leisure activities and doing research in the future.
    The student took students in 14 Taichung senior high schools as the research subjects. By the use of questionnaire participation in leisure activities and subseqent satisfaction, an investigation was made on 1,260 students through random sampling. With the data thus obtained, an analysis was made by the use of descriptive statistic, unpaired t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffe?s.
    The analysis shows:
    1. Most students do leisure activities twice a week. Thirty-one minutes to forty-five minutes each time. Mostly from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM on weekends.
    2. In order of popularity, students? favorite sports are basketball, badminton, walking, bicycling and jogging.
    3. In the aspect of satisfaction with the participation of leisure activities, the satisfaction rating of Taichung senior high school students is medium in environment cognition, activities fields and opportunities of getting involved.
    4. Different genders , different school attributes , different schools?except Taichung First Senior High School , Wen Hua Senior High School , and Shin Min High School,?different grades , different school locations all have low satisfaction with the facilities of activity fields .
    5. Among students of different backgrounds, there are significant differences in satisfaction with the participation in leisure activities with the only exception that they feel no significant differences on weekly allowances.
