    Title: The Study of the Relationship among Principals? Transactional Leadership and Teacher?s Organizational Citizenship Behavior in Elementary Schools with the Mediation Effects of Organizational Commitment

    Abstract: Organizational citizenship behavior can promote organization?s competitiveness effectively. This study regarded the teachers from the elementary schools in the five counties and cities of Yunlin, Chiayi, Nantou as the population. Questionnaire investigation was adopted, where 1500 copies of questionnaires have been distributed and 664 copies have been retrieved, deducting the 18 copies of invalid questionnaires, which were either incompletely filled up or the answers for the entire questionnaire were consistent; thus, there were 646 copies of actual valid questionnaires. This study examined the teachers? consciousness towards the relationship between the school principal?s transformational leadership and teacher?s organizational citizenship behavior, and organizational commitment was used as the intervening variable. This study used SPSS software to undertake statistical analysis. The study result found out: 1. The school principal?s transformational leadership is positively correlated with teacher?s organizational commitment; 2. The teacher?s organizational commitment is positively correlated with teacher?s organizational citizenship behavior; 3. The school principal?s transformational leadership is positively correlated with teacher?s organizational citizenship behavior; 4. There are no significant difference between teacher?s gender, level of education, number of school classes and the variables; 5. There are positively significant difference between the relevant variables and older teachers & teachers who serve administration post concurrently; 6. In the school principal?s transformational leadership and teacher?s organizational citizenship behavior, the organizational commitment possesses partial intervening effects; 7. Establishing teams, creating the vision together, and arousing potential have significantly positive influence towards organizational commitment, in which the R-Square is 47.0%; 8. Creating the vision together and arousing potential have significantly positive influence towards organizational citizenship behavior, in which the R-Square is 33.0%; 9. The desire to strive has significantly positive influence towards organizational citizenship behavior, in which the R-Square is 44.4%.
