Abstract: | As a country in tropical climate, Indonesia has beautiful and attractive nature sceneries which include forest resorts that are rich of flora, fauna collection that can be relied on as potential tourist attractions. Currently tourism system requires apt response to the dynamic nature of the tourism environment and innovative in providing value-added tourist services. This research aims to improve the efficiency of information management through the effective use of computer technology for the current Ir. H. Djuanda Grand Forest Park tourism system and to provide a higher value-added service to the potential tourist and attract them coming to that place.
We had collected organizational data through analysis on management documents and on inter personnel relation in the resort organization. Based on a use-case driven object-oriented system development methodology, we then designed three phases in system development i.e. requirement analysis phase, design phase, implementation and testing phase. In requirement analysis phase, we identify the actors/users who connect with the system, then develop use-case. Next phase, we design class, user interface, and construct database. Coding and Testing is the end of the phase. We build model using UML notation and through all these steps a prototype of Grand Forest Park Ir.H.Djuanda Tourism Information System is built.
After we tested this ecotourism system, we found that the using of information technology did generate competitive benefits for organization. The system improved the efficiency of information management in Ir. H. Djuanda Grand Forest Park management. The modeling of information system in tourism forest resort is formed by giving the different authority of access which is divided into 5 levels, i.e. level 1 Administrator, level 2 Head of Bureau, level 3 Administrative Planner, level 4 Executor Planner, and level 5 User/customer.
We suggest that the system should be developed further on inter-organizational function, between Ir. H. Djuanda Grand Forest Park with other organizations, such as with tourism service providers, like tour operators, tourist agencies, etc. This system further needs feedback from the users through usability testing, and additional

development of trip planner function in order help potential tourist to gain deeper knowledge in planning their trip and to save time and cost. |
