The study takes the principals, directors, team leaders, and teachers of senior and vocational high schools in Nantou County as the object, to probe into the information literacy of teaching staff and school effectiveness of senior and vocational high schools. The study proceeded by literature analysis and questionnaire. First, 203 teaching staffs in 12 senior and vocational high schools in Nantou County are drawn out by stratified sampling to study. The results were analyzed by means, standard deviations, t-test, one- way ANOVA, Pearson?s product-moment correlation, and multiple stepwise regression analysis. The conclusions are as follows: 1. The current information literacy of teaching staff in senior and vocational high schools belongs to ?mid-high? degree. 2. The current school effectiveness of senior and vocational high schools belongs to ?mid-high? degree. 3. The information literacy of teaching staff is differentiated by genders, ages and working experience. 4. The school effectiveness of teaching staff in senior and vocational high schools is differentiated by genders, education backgrounds and school scales. 5. Schools with higher information literacy would have better school effectiveness. 6. Information cognition best predicts the school effectiveness.
