    Title: The analysis of the knowledge attitude and behavior of occupational safety and health among nurses

    Abstract: The object of this study is to understand the knowledge, attitude, and behavior of nursing personnel in labor safety health.
    The study is conducted by investigation at a self-designed questionnaire. The studying object has 290 nurses in a regional teaching hospital, his allied and one public hospital in central Taiwan. The contents of this questionnaire included personal basic information, 19 problems of knowledge of labor safety health, 28 problems of attitudes of safety health ( 4 points scales ) and 26 problems of behavior of safety health ( 4 points scales ). The result showed the average score is 11.76+ 2.15 ( total 19 score ) in knowledge of safety health, and 84.56 +6.54 score ( total 112 scores)in attitude of safety health, and 76.13 + 8.84 score ( total 104 score) in behavior of safety health.
    There are 42.8 % of nursing personnel had experienced occupational injuries in 3-year period. The knowledge of safety health can?t get a statistically significant level in hospital nursing personnel. The attitude and behavior of safety health have gotten a statistically significant level in nursing personnel of married, having children, having administration experience, age above 36 and having nursing experience more than 15 years. It showed the attitude and behavior i these nursing groups intended for aggressive cooperation.
    From the scales of attitude and behavior, it shows periodic health check-up gets more concerned and cooperation in nursing personnel, but the educational training and practices in emergency disasters get less attention and unwillingness to participate. The phenomenon of continuing work in bad physical conditions and having no time to participate in the educational training of safety health need further exploration. ? ? this sign represents the contaminated waste. There are 26.6 % of nursing personnel mistake it for ? radiation materials ? needs pay attention to by the relative departments.
