    Title: A current study of the deployment of website on hospital from the aspect of patient-centeredness

    Abstract: With the fast development and the common use of internet network, more and more hospitals have built up websites, in order to provide the service of giving the people more convenient medical treatment. The purpose of this study is to figure out the current status of the deployment of websites around the educational hospitals in Taiwan. The outcome also is used as reference and guideline for building website. The estimate form using in this study is designed based on standards of New Hospital Accreditation.

    The result of the study is as follow

    1. The setting up rate of website of teaching hospital in Taiwan is up to 98.3%.
    2. Both of the Categories of Hospital Accreditation and type of hospitals have significant influences for building the content of websites. Services on the website provided from the higher level of Hospital Accreditation are more than the lowers.
    3. The study also found that although 77 teaching hospitals have exclusive E-mail account for people who need to contact to the hospitals, only 34 hospitals less than 50% have replied the experimental request during the prior of the study. However, the 34 hospitals replied the request in 24 hours since received the message.

    Based on the above results, several recommendations are made as follow
    1. The estimate form using in this study can be used as guideline to verify the content of the websites.
    2. In order to fit the need of people, attention should be paid on the customization of the services provided on the websites.
    3. It suggests that the estimate form can be used as the criteria for the election of the best healthcare website and be taken a part of the criteria of the Hospital Accreditation.
