    Title: Research on Group-Recreation-Activity(GRA) Leisure Motives and Constraints Analysis of Retired Junior High School Teachers in Nan-Tou County

    Abstract: The purpose of this research is to explore the status that retired junior high school teachers in Nantou County participate in group recreation activities and to investigate the differences between their leisure motivations and constraints. Questionnaires were used to survey the retired teachers in 31 public junior high schools in Nantou. 400 effective questionnaires were collected out of a total of 430 questionnaires that were sent out. The effective rate was 93%. After analyzing data with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Scheff-test, the results were as follows:
    1.There were 206 respondents, accounted for 51.5% of the total respondents, have the habit of participating in group recreation activities.
    2.The main motivation of participating in group recreation activities was to promote health, and the main group recreation activities were social dances in dancing, popular songs in singing, and Mahjong in playing.
    3.Most respondents tend to participate in group recreation activities with their friends before 8am in public places for once to twice a week, and 90 to 120 minutes each time.
    4.Significant differences were found between most motivations and constraints of retired teachers with different habits of participating in group recreation activities.
    5.Among all the demographic variables, sex has the most influence on leisure motivations.
    6.Among all the demographic variables, only sex, age, and tenure have influences on leisure constraints.
