    Abstract: Business strategies and competitive advantages have always been concerned and researched by companies in Taiwan. Good business strategies are important indicators to companies, and competitive advantages are targets of the market and distribution channels. This paper analyzes the packing industry for Light Emitting Diode (LED). LED packing began research, development and manufacturing in 1970. The technology has continued to advance and market application expanded. The main application of the product is LED light bulb. Since the medium to high brightness LED for large billboard is clearly identifiable under outdoor sunlight, the product has moved into full-color. The application has been expanded to automobile lighting, traffic signal light, backlight source for mobile phones, full-color scanner, light source for facsimile, and full-color module. Also,IrDA products from optoelectronics technology used for short-distance transmission technology use far infrared wireless transmission technology, and have potential application on PC, Internet communication, mobile phone, beeper, digital camera, color image multimedia data transmission.
    This study discussed the creation of values for competitive advantages from indicators of business strategies, and identified suitable structure of competitive advantages for sustainable operation and long-term competitive advantages for companies.
