    Due to the increased demand for recreation, there has been a growing trend emphasizing the quality of leisure and travel habits. The main purpose of such is to alleviate physical and psychological pressure in order to obtain physical and mental pleasure. A natural environment provides a wide range of research areas and many studies have concluded that this environment can in turn effect the ultimate goal of recreational tourists. Coastal and other open areas have a different visual landscape than others lending them certain special elements. In light of this relevant theory it is the purpose of this study to comprehend the effect of open coast on recreational activities, motivation and behavior, as well as to engage in open discussion the psychological effectiveness of these activities.
    In this study, purposive sampling methods were used to conduct visits with tourists. The resulting 396 valid questionnaires were then analyzed through SPSS12.0 data analysis. Research results showed that greatest motirations of respondents for choosing coastal areas of tourism were to enjoy the best natural landscape, to avoid heavy day-to-day work, relax and reduce stress as well as to engage in land-based activities while appreciating the landscape. Most of the coast produce positive psychological benefits. Furthermore, coastal recreational activities are easily generated which in turn reduces the length of time needed for psychological recovery. Therefore, according to Recreational Marine expectations, in order to produce positive psychological effects in the future, recreational activities should promote the development of the aforementioned coastal regions.
