    Title: A Research on Leisure Activities Participation of Intermediate Level Students in Pingtung Fangliao Elementary School

    Abstract: This study attempts to explore and comprehend the situation and the relation about the leisure activity participation, cognition and attitude of intermediate level students in Pingtung Fangliao Elementary School.

    The research instrument that using Elementary School Students Leisure Activity Participation Questionnaire and Leisure Attitude Questionnaire were implemented for the purpose of investigating whether background variables caused diversity leisure activity participation, cognition and attitude of intermediate level students in Pingtung Fangliao Elementary School. Also analyze the relations among the leisure activity participation , cognition and attitude.

    The research subjects were intermediate level students in Pingtung Fangliao Elementary School and the survey was conducted using the stratified random sampling method. 600 Questionnaires were distributed and 522 valid questionnaires where collected and analyzed, using descriptive statistics, independent sample T-tests, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe?s method and Pearson?s product-moment correlation methods. The data analysis yielded the following outcomes:
    1. In order of preference concerning the type of activity?
    (1) By the sports activities, riding the bike was the most preferred activity type, and the martial art was the less preferred one.
    (2) By the recreation activities, watching TV was the most preferred one and flying the kites was the less preferred one.
    (3) By the intellectual activities, browsing information in the internet was the most, and the less was flower arrangement.
    The participation of the intellectual activities was only one subject over 3, that means the survey candidate didn?t use to take part of the intellectual activities.
    2. Gender, player, team mate, grade level have difference in showing how to participate in a type of recreation.
    3. The analysis among leisure participation type, cognition and attitude:
    (1) Self-approval, abundant life, independence, relaxation of body and mind, being comfortable, focus on leisure time also bring forth the same level of influence when other dimensions are altered.
    (2) Socializing, travel and pleasure bring back the same level of influence when other dimensions are altered.
