Abstract: Due to the quick development of Internet technologies, Internet becomes popular and everywhere. It allows persons with sensor to get various physiological signals for healthcare and send to the health database system in order to provide ubiquitous healthcare environment.
However, to establish a ubiquitous health care system, a high-performance network environment is necessary. This paper analyzes the performance of IPv4/v6 U(ubiquitous)-healthcare network by the use of Iperf network performance analysis tools for the test of the performance of transmission. Iperf can do both TCP and UDP transmission test by modifying the parameters, such as the Buffer Sizes, TCP windows Sizes, Max Segment Sizes, ... etc. It can be able to obtain throughput, Jitter and packet Loss, ... etc.
Through our analysis and comparison of the test of TCP and UDP in IPv4 and IPv6 network environments, the obtained results can be used as a basis for the choice of an U-healthcare system network protocols.
