Nowadays, the network prevails over the world, from wired networks to wireless ones. Although the Wi-Fi networks have used for a long period of time, some weaknesses still exist. For example, the usage is limited to very short distance. The Wi-MAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) may improve some weaknesses of Wi-Fi and can be viewed as a complementary system of Wi-Fi. Moreover, the VoIP (Voice over IP) is becoming a popular and will gradually replace the traditional telephone systems. As such, the VoIP system over Wi-MAX is desirable choice. In this thesis discuss the usage of voice applications over Wi-MAX. We evaluate the system performance such as pachet dropping rate, channel throughput and mean delay by computer simulations.
