Abstract: When Internet has become more and more popular and medical technology has a dramatic development in recent year, the average life of person is increased year by year. Therefore the society has become an aging society gradually. Besides, the employment rate of woman increases year by year. So the role of family in the elderly care becomes weak and elderly care has become a hot issue now. The study uses radio frequency identification (RFID) technology and personal digital assistant (PDA) to build a smart care system. In the method of setting RFID tag, the study proposes to cover the space needed to be care with tags in hexagonal structure to save the cost. The study can detect whether the person under care has unusual situations. When an unusual situation happens, the situation can be informed to care center for emergency management. Because the daily life of each person under care is different, the system developed in the study can adjust itself automatically according to the daily life of the person under care. So the system can decides the situation more accurately. The proposed system can increase the time of rescue and reduce damages to the minimum. Further, the system can decrease the burden of nurse personal, increase the safety of the person under care and increase the quality of care.
