In recent years, the Information Appliances (IAs), such as smart handheld device and smart phone, all involve smart units. This fact renders the IA not only a pure hardware but also a multimedia and multi-service device. Thesis these describe using the ARM9 (S3C2410 MCU) embedded system platform operating WINDOWS CE.NET 4.2 and a control window designed by Embedded Visual C ++ (EVC ) as a user interface. Through the GPIO interface of the hardware, we set up a wireless environmental equipment for wireless transmission, by which the house watching and electric appliance control are implemented. Furthermore, with the remote login using the Internet, the above-mentioned operations can be carried out remotely. The system is a prototype of combining IA, embedded system, and the Internet and can be further extended to more wide applications.
