This project is aiming at the measurements and quality improvements of the physiological signals, and they can be divided into three parts: (1) Measurements and Transmissions: We will provide a solution for developing and implementing the wireless transmission of the front-end measured physiological signals via smart phones. (2) Quality improvements of the measured signals: For the need of ECG signal filtering in the other sub-projects, we will design an optimal filter realization subject to finite precision implementations (i.e. finite word length (FWL) implementations of A/D and D/A converters, and register length of a CPU). A stability criterion is derived to enhance the robustness of the filter as well as to improve the quality of the ECG signals. (3) Data protection during transmission: We will design a hybrid algorithm that combines the advantages of symmetric encryption and public key encryption (asymmetric) algorithms to protect the patients’ privacy.
