Abstract: Establishing the biodiversity database is the basic for improving biodiversity of protection, education and research. The different organizations use different database structure and with self-contained management. The present website link can not complete the goal of quick searching. To link the current all world biodiversity database and to make digital information become “ONE WORLD”, which provides the faster and more convenience service. Therefore, how to make database “communicated” and link each other will be a benefit for biodiversity development.
The purpose of this research focus on the Information Technology for developing the link between NPGRIS(National Plant Genetic Resources Information System) and TaiBIF(Taiwan Biodiversity Information Facility).
By using the web technology and web service for build up one information plate-form with the simple convention between different databases. To share the information under the DDBMS (Distributed Data Base Management) operation condition, it integrates the heterogeneity database system and reaches the purpose of information sharing and will be good for biodiversity development.
