    Abstract: The nursing college students' knowledge,attitude and willingness
    on long term care.
    As average life expectancy is longer than before, the amount of senior citizen increased in country population. As the increasing of old people, Long term care has become one biggest issue in 21 century. The purpose of this research is trying to understand the knowledge, attitude and willingness of long term care from the nursing school students. To find out how a person’s background and long term care related courses affect it. We selected 130 students from the nursing school where located in north of Taiwan that had completed their internship in long term care for the year 2006. It’s an instructed survey, using SPSS window 12.0 version for the T examination, analyzed by 2-way ANOVA,Posteriori comparisons , Pearson's, Stepwise multiple regression for the statistic data base.
    The average score among the students in long term care: The knowledge takes 71.1. The nationality of students in long term care is related obviously (F=3.08, P<0.05).
    The attitude is 3.7, almost “Agree”. Willingness in public charity activities (F=4.33, P<0.05), the degree of fondness in old people (F=3.17, P<0.05), intern hospital, long term care course study & intern scores (F=14.32, P<0.05; F=27.3. P<0.05), course study & feeling in period of internship(R=0.04, P<0.01; R=0.49, p<0.01) indicated related. Assuming that the feeling of long tern care during internship, intern hospital, the fondness in old are what affects the scores the most, approximately 35.7%.
    The willingness is 3.2, almost ”Fine”. The degree of fondness in old people (F=5.02, P<0.05), Dislike in old people (F=2.44, P<0.05), course study & feeling in period of internship(R=0.04, P<0.01; R=0.54, P<0.01). The course study & feeling in period of internship, dislike in old people affect the grade the most, approximately 31.2%.
    Long tern care in knowledge & attitude is related positively, R=0.2. This means the higher knowledge the higher attitude: the relationship between knowledge & willingness is also positive, R=0.23. This shows more positive attitude, more willingness in long term care.
    The research could be the reference in arranging nursing college education . We are hoping this could increase students’ abilities in long term care in knowledge, attitude and willingness for the future needs.
