    Abstract: The influence of Taiwan information and communication technology industry manifests itself in the worldwide dominance of ICT product variants supply, including personal computer, notebook computer, mobile hand-set, and so on. Its worldwide competitive advantage enables the fulfillment of a United-Nation supported project titled "One Laptop per Child (OLPC)" to alleviate the "digital Divide". Her logical next endeavor is to enter the automotive Telematics/Infotainment market. This paper depicts the challenge ahead of ICT manufacturers from five aspects: technology requirement, entrance barrier into the supply chain, market positioning, collaborative engineering capability, and long term commitment, and make suggestion how they can achieve the goal by an appropriate approach.
