摘要: Objective: (1)To examine whether there is any changes on healthcare utilization before and after economic crisis in Indonesia.(2)To identify the factors influencing healthcare service utilization toward children before and after economic crisis in Indonesia.(3)To examine the impacts of economic crisis on healthcare equitable access toward children in Indonesia.
Methods : This study is using data from two waves of Indonesia Family Survey (IFLS) in 1997, and 2000. IFLS is survey conducted by RAND corp. in cooperation with Lembaga Demografi University of Indonesia, and Population Research Center, Gadjah Mada University Indonesia. The Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) is an on-going longitudinal survey of individuals, households, families, and communities in Indonesia. This survey will take child less than 15 years old and household as the respondent . This survey will comprise totally 10.415 ( IFLS2 ) and 11.739 (IFLS 3) for child less than 15 years old, and 7,619 household (IFLS2) also 6.800 household (IFLS3).This study focuses on the survey data pertinent to utilization of inpatient and outpatient services among children before and after economic crisis. Andersen’s Behavioral Model of Health service provide the framework for the analysis.
Principal Findings: The demographic distribution of the utilization of both services was less than expected, as children use less and less after economic crisis for both services.
Among predisposing, enabling and need factors, which are influencing healthcare service utilization toward children after economic crisis for each population, some of the odds ratio are likely equal, but some are broadened. And some of the predisposing, enabling and need factors are not significant influencing healthcare service utilization. The initial impact of the economic crisis on health has effects on distribution among income group, which is raising equity issues, especially for lowest, lower income level group.
