This research discusses the relationship between the performance of the players (including pitchers and batters) of China Professional Baseball League and their salary during the period 2006-2011 to understand whether the performance of the pitchers or the batters influence the salary; or the salary will influence the performance of the players. The research results show that the salary has significant influence on the wins of the pitchers. That is the increase in salary has positive encouragement to the performance of the pitchers. Furthermore, the salary has positive and significant influence on the batting rate and hits of the batters. This means that the higher the salary is, the better the performance of the batters are. This research also finds that the higher the salary of the batters is, the higher the possibility of being struck out. This reflects that the star players are often the central force of the team. When there are players on the scoring position, they must have hits send back the teammates. Therefore, the strike zone will be enlarged the results in higher possibility of being struck out. On the other hand, this research indicates that the wins of the pitchers, the average batting rate and hits of the batters have positive influences on the players’ salary This means that when the players have good performance and contributions, the team will increase the players’ salary
