This study focused on the Chinese mainland of Japan's direct investment (Foreign Direct Investment, FDI) in the aggregate data and individual-level data, the following findings:Huge gap between investment and trade in mainland China towards Japan, trade and long-term showing the warm and growing; growth in the region, the amount of investment towards Japan, but regardless of the stock and flow is lagging behind other countries, the proportion is less than the overall into; the investment industry to gradually shift from manufacturing to soft industry.Private and non-central state-owned enterprises is a leading investment enterprise types; into the motivation to obtain strategic resources mainly concentrated in the manufacturing sector; entry mode Merger purchase; central state-owned enterprises to invest in manufacturing, private diversified and non-central state-owned enterprises to invest in industry; three business types are parallel to the integration and cross-cutting industry investment.Potential problems of direct investment towards Japan, including a professional management team after the merger, the operating costs of the improvement can not be integrated into the Japanese market.
